Summer Music Institute 2017

Two position opening for the 2017 OCMEA Summer Music Institute:

  • Intermediate String Ensemble Director (grades 5 – 7)

  • Intermediate Chorus Director (grades 4 – 7)

The Summer Music Institute provides elementary through high school band, chorus, and string students with a two-week large ensemble experience.  The program culminates with a free public concert.

Qualifications:  Applicant must be a highly qualified public school string ensemble teacher and a member of OCMEA.

Work dates:  July 10 – 13 and July 17 – 20, 2017

 

Location:  Monroe Woodbury High School, Monroe, NY

Work hours:

July 10 (8:30am – 12:30pm)

July 11 – 13 and July 17 – 20 (9:30am – 12:30pm)

July 20 final concert (5:00pm – 8:30pm)

 

Job expectations:  Conductor will prepare the string ensemble to perform at the Summer Music Institute’s finale concert.  The conductor is responsible for supplying their own music (e.g. from own library. OCMEA library, or by borrowing music from other schools in our county).
