The Warwick Valley Central School District in Orange County, NY has a
5th grade band director position, which is intended to start around
April 7 and continue until the end of this school year. While not a part
of this leave replacement, the Warwick District intends to start an
instrumental program for 4th grade next school year; therefore, your
ability to competently teach both band and strings would give you strong
consideration for a tenure-track music position in 08-09. For this year,
the band position will involve weekly lessons to prepare for concerts
for approximately 100 beginning band students in 4 schools in late
Spring and recruitment for next year. There is a close relationship and
support between the elementary band director and the elementary strings
teacher. You would be a part of a highly recognized K - 12 music program
and a Board of Education who is committed to a comprehensive and
excellent K - 12 music program. Piano skills are considered a plus and
eligibility for NYS certification or in-process are a requirement. For
