There will be SIGHT-READING .  Improvisation  is optional and only will be used in determining solo chairs. Any student wishing to improvise MUST bring their own CD "boom box"! The student will be expected to improvise  one (1) to two (2) choruses from the Volume II Jamie Albersold, "Nuthin' But The Blues" recording.
A drum set will be furnished at the audition site ( drummers can bring their own kits, if they so desire), and Bass & Guitar slingers MUST bring their own amplification.

newYear III audition list has been modified to incorporate a single violin solo for all
Senior High Violinists.

Violin: Solo is the same as the old Year III Violin I solo (Rachmaninov Vocalise).
Starting with the old packets compiled by OCMEA, the solo is to be modified as
follows: Play from measure 19 (molto espressivo) to measure 36 (just before the
Poco piu mosso).

Viola, Cello, Bass: No change to Year II solo

**All string auditions beginning in the 2009-2010 school year will include sight reading**

Year II audition list has been modified to incorporate a single violin solo for all Senior High violinists.
Violin: Solo is the same as the old Year II Violin I solo. Starting with the old packets compiled by OCMEA, the solo is to be modified as follows: Play from rehearsal H, 38 measures to the end of the page.  Rehearsal H is 33 measures after the Tempo I marking and the time signature change to 3/8.   
Viola: No change to Year II solo
Cello: No change to Year II solo
Bass: No change to Year II solo
